Hi Guys,

I have a 150hp Johnson pushing a 18ft bow-rider.

Approx how much fuel would I need for a return trip to the Banks? :-/

Thanks,

Lindsay

All depends on where you leave from and to which part of the "Banks" you refer ??

Say you leave from Mooloolaba and go to the Northern Banks (60k's one way), Work on 150 litres Min, I'd think 200 litres to be safe.

I'm assuming your 150 is a 2 stroke ?

I aagree Wayne, from the posts I have seen, I'd have to pick my day to go to the Banks. Some days you could water-ski there :)and others you could sink >:(

Pls let me know ..... where is "Murphys"? :-? I am very new to anything offshore.

Regards

Lindsay

work out how far you can go on a litre of fuel, now work out how far you want to go (they say 60km). So if your consumption is 1L a KM, I would highly recomend 60, 60, 60. Thats 1/3 there, 1/3 return and 1/3 reserve for when the *hit hits the fan. Then you need to allow for the time out there and the fuel used returning on a drift or changing spots.
