Hi all!

Without digging holes in my hull in the first instance, how would I find out if the hull (at any particular location) was solid glass, core or have air gaps?

I want to mount a shoot-thu ducer just forweard of the transom..

THoughts?

Outsiderskip,

When you sad the delcoat off, are you 100% sure the area underneath is full glass - without wooden core?

G'day
When you sand the gelcoat off, you can generally shine a strong light through to the indise of hull, and depending on the thickness of the flowcoat and fibreglass layers you can see right through the hull. This will give you some indication of how solid the area is.
