Hi all, has anyone or has anyone seen a bow mount electric mounted to the front of a 510 profish. How do they go for height of the water at rest

thanks Jules

Jules,

Smithy. You back in Brisbane now and sold the Southwind I see? Rossco is back down this weekend from CQ.

As for you answer, bloke in our fishing club has an Autopilot Minn Kota on the front of a 475 Trailcraft and it works fine. Will ask him if he reckons it will work on a 510.

Hey mate, yeh the longboat has gone it was a sad day to, but the family needs have changed. How has Rossco been, since I have been up in the Bay I have lost touch with the boy's from Brissy.

That would be great if you could ask your mate, I didn't know how it would go with the raised bow.

Thanks Jules

Jules,

Another fellow Profish owner went for the 74lb Minn Kota bow mount on his 485. I have the 55lb autopilot on my 465 Profish but I think your size boat could use the extra thrust. Unfortunately you will also need to store 2 batteries as well.

cheers

Jules,

talked to this guy and if you buy the longest shaft MK you can get you should be fine. His head sits up about a foot when deployed and the prop is 2 foot or so below the surface in this position.

Mate i've just fitted a 65lb minnkota to my ub520 which also has a highish bow , i went for the longest shaft available and my head is about 25cm up as Rob has stated.. The 65lb 24 volt has no trouble with the ub 520 at all

Hope that helps

Ian

Go for the 65lb 24v Riptide. I have one on my Fisher 4.8m and I'm glad I have some days. Some people think 24v is a pain but I have mine setup to plug straight into a 12v charger and charge the batteries in parellel. If you want a circuit post me.
