Does anyone know what this is ?

Hi Everyone,

Mate purchased an old 19C a few weeks ago and hanging off of the side of the cabin (on the outside), within reaching distance of the driver, is this attachment/doohicky.

Can someone please tell me it's purpose because we don't have a clue and it's driving me nuts.

but what does it actually do ? what exactly do you mean by game pole ?

Because it has outrigger poles attached also, but they come off at a different point..

Mate,

It is an older style outrigger mount. The outrigger has a metal bas on it with two prongs that slide behind the bolt piece. A bloke I know has some fitted to an old Bertram.

Had me stumped. But it makes sense as there are other outrigger poles attached and we found a tag pole mounted in the boat.

Previous owner must have been pretty serious about chasing those big fish.

They must have been added to that Berty post production as the Sportsfishing models usually had the timber plate with the traditional curved mounting post.
