Can anyone who has been for a spin in or owns a Powercat 2400, 2600 or 3000 give me some info... Economy, ride in rough seas etc...
Thanks,
Ben. :)

Ben,
I was looking at them last year myself, and got in contact with a guy up my way (Hervey bay) with a 2600. He was wrapped in it. He had a largish mono prior, (southwind i think) and said it was not even comparable. He said the ride was exceptional. He fishes off 1770 etc as well as in the bay. His boat had a pair of 150hp 2stroke yamahas on it and had a top end of about 48knots! Cannot quote the fuel figures, he did have some quite accurate ones, but it i remember thinking that it was not to bad considering the power he had on tap. If you speak to Power cat i know they quote figures that are not far of the mark. They are expensive, but i think there is really not much that compares to them.

ben,
a friend of mine has a 30ft powercat. they use it to run up to 100NM off the coast around mackay at 30kt +. the ride is supposedly exceptional, excellent layout and finish ( i haven't been in it). they researched for a couple of years before deciding on the powercat over all the others. 2 x 200 yamaha Vmax's. i think it uses about 50lt/hr cruising with a top speed about 45kt or so. they moved up from a haines 773. they absolutely love it.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I checked them out yesterday at the BRIS BOAT SHOW! great looking vessels! Look epic for fishing out wide and for cruising with the missus etc... Economy figures were exceptional with the twin 4 stroke Suzukis...
Cheers,
Ben.
