Hi, bought 1L of Fuel stabilizer today from a reputable boat shop for $20 after explaining to the guy that I wanted to flush my carbies with an additive- he didnt seem real convincing, just fumbled thru shelf and found bottle and said "this might do".
So, anyone used it and had results before (Yamaha brand on bottle) .
Or should I have spent $20 on beer? :-/

Pete,
Was taking to my boat mech the other day and asked if i should put any additive in my fuel being a 4/s and he sold me a tin of Nulon Fuel System Cleaner and said to run it through and not worry about putting anymore in until further down the track.
Even though i only have 30 hrs up on it he said it wont hurt due to the slow running when new. I might add that there are no problems with the motor anyhow.
It goes through a whole range of reasons why you should use it. I think you know when you need to use something like this.
Graeme :)
Fuel Additive is a substance you put in your fuel tank to make your fuel stay "fresher" and remove gum and moisture.
"Petrolpower" is one good brandname.
Carbie cleaner is something else.

I use "fuel doctor", seems to keep things clean and free of deposits and never had a problem with water after I started using it.
I wont leave fuel for more than 3 moths though.
Cheers Mark
