View Full Version : Buying a 600 Explorer
Gday all i am just about to sign up for a 2003 Cruie craft explorer. Has a 175 yammie 2 stroke on it with a total of 100 hours. Boat is in immaculate condition. Looking at around 43k. Have had a 17r Haines that i restored for about 4 years and it is time to upgrade. Any comments would be greatly appreciated, i would of liked a 4 stroke on it. Also has anyone done anything with extra fuel ie bladder or added an extra tank in some way. I think the price is pretty good.
Thanks for your help 8-)

Hey mpbr,
the price seems pretty good. Is the boat and motor the same age. The reason I ask is that I run a 575 outsider that is a 2002 model and I thought that the sizes for the explorer and outsider were the same ie 575, 625 and 685. I hope that I am wrong ( normally am ).
Anyway we love our CC it is a great family boat and very capable of outside work. I paid more than that for an 02 model with a smaller engine and hull so yours would seem well priced
cheers
Alex
The boat is the same age as the motor. The explporer 600 was discontinued in 03 and went to the 625. Im pretty sure thanks for your comments

43K would have been a bargain :o)
I see these boats pulling around $49k sometimes. $47K would still be an ok price IMO
I own a 2003 600 Explorer with a 175 yammie 2 stroke as well. You'll love it!!!!
email or PM me if you want any other info.

I cant pm yet heath but what is the fuel economy like what litres per km or miles. Were do you fish out of. I will be crossing tweed a fair bit but i got a fair experience with the bar. Crossed it plenty of times in the 17r still can be tricky on a run out tide. Cheers.
Wanted to let yous know that i ended up paying 45k for it. ;D took it out yesterday for a little run and i am pretty happy with it . Very different to drive to the 17r. Had 6 people on it and had to get them up the front to plane easily. Need to do a few modifications to it but nothing major. Deck washdown, try and put a door on the cab and some side pockets for tackle
