needed wiring colour code for omc tacho

think i,ve blown one up like to play safe with my last one which wire to pul grn 12v plus the pul rev dial is set about 2 1/2 is this correct for a johno v4 thanks

12V is purple
grn is black

not sure what the tacho setting is for V4

thanks fishingchew i looked at that site i think my pulse is [12] the dial is 1 to 6 ? i conected it up the gauge was on 2500 and slowly moved to 3500 then back so cant be right i put a multi meteor on showed 12 volts motor going or not cheers

Set your tacho to 6.

Wayne, unless someone has managed to change the johnson/evinrude wiring guidelines all purple wires on those engines are 12v supply ::) ;)

okay gary when i was ordering parts off goldenseal in melbourne i ttold sean i had no currant at the tacho he told me yo check the wiring as purple is pulse grey 12volt black is gr and now i have it working not right but getting 12volts ? no worries mate

thanks fishing jew just what i needed and that says the colour are as gary said ? life is to tough for me bm there is a trap here it is actually 6c which is directly opposite of 6 do i really need a tacho cant be worth this cheers guys

just when i though i understood went back to site fishingjew gave us and there is a list of international wiring colours eg red is pos black is neg purple is tacho ?

Unless your engine has aftermarket wiring (ie someone has rewired it) go with my original wiring schedule
