had a couple of brooker tinnies
4.1 - knocked about, dragged over rocks and generally abused. Leaked from the odd split but always got me home.
3.7 good ride for what it is, not abused as much yet as the 4.1 (give me time) no cracks or dings.

They seem to be a fairly well made little tinnie, remembering thats what they are. The 4.1 and the current 3.7 are both 20 + years old.
The 4.1 should fly with a 40hp on the back, only had an 18hp on mine, The 3.7 has a 9.9hp
Hope thats some help
cheers

Stace, I have a Brooker 4.1 safari with a 30 Yamaha 3 cylinder two stroke. This is a very well made boat that beats all others on value for money. The stability is excellent and the ride is surprisingly good. 30 hp gets me to 26-27 knots with heaps of acceleration, 40 hp would fly. This my second Brooker (I had a 4.75 runabout for six years but bought a 20 foot displacement boat so downsized) and have no hesitation in recommending them. Cheers Winston.

An old bloke I knew used to fish in one and swore by the 4.2 tinnie. Are the new ones just as good?
Like to know if anyone has a later model 485 Bay Chaser, are you pleased with it? Any hints for purchasing one? Lets Go Broncos. Cheers, Castlemaine.

I have a 5m discovery...Very stable and heaps of room..I was going to get a quinny topender but got this and am rigging it up to suit myself..I have put casting decks front and back, side console and after I put a 60 4stroke on it I will still save about 11 grand.I paid 10,000 for it with 25 hrs on the clock.Fantastic boat...

Kunnara 1 , I saw a 5m discovery last week with side console, front and rear casting platforms and 70 yamaha for just under 20 grand. Looks like you got an absolute bargain. I would love to know the performance with the 60 fourstroke and the ability to launch and retrieve on your own. I would also like to know the performance in a little bit of rough water as this is what I thought I migh upgrade to a little later. Cheers Winston.

I have a 4.5 centre console (2000 model with 50hp 3cyl 2stroke, toughest damn tinnie I have ever come across. Gets up to just under 40mph(gauge and gps) with two big blokes and plenty of gear. Use it to fish the reef (30klms away) Have had the unfortunate experiance of two meter seas and the damn thing handled it all with ease. :)

Been window shopping looking at the 4metre to 4.55metre range. The brooker looks to be cheaper than Quintrex etc. but are narrower in the beam. Is this a disadvantage especially as far as stability when you are in rough water or there a a few blokes moving about.
