Thanks to everyone who gave me advice on Cats and the cruise crafts outsiders (which i was originally looking for).

I finally decided on and purchased a 1999 model 5.2m Kevlacat Black Marlin with 70hp Yamahas. It is excellent one owner boat that has been very well looked after.

Looking forward to getting out on the water soon, and a trip to the Whitsundays (on the Kevla) at Xmas time.

If there is anyone in the Hervey bay area with a 5.2 kevlacat, who doen't mind having a chat, please drop me a message.

Thanks again XR.

Congratulations XR welcome to the club. #I've had mine now for 18 months & have no regrets. #When I can afford it I'll be repowering with 60hp Yamaha 4strokes as some other ausfisher have done. #

Hope she goes well for you,

Cheers,

Chris

Great looking boat XR. My mate had the 5.2 Tournament back in the late 90s. Went anywhere. Had game chair and all....a very capable vessel.

Cheers

XR - If you get stuck for a name, there have been a few occasions where a new owner has thrown the naming of a boat out for open input here.

Perhaps you can do the same.
Provide a few core themes of things which mean something to you for the ausfishers to base some meaningful names on.
Or you can of course sit back and let the crackers slip through too!

In the very least is some food for thought.

Hey XR,

Where di you pick her up from? Where did you find it advertsied?

Nice choice, and a nice boat. Any hints on a rough cost?

99 Model would have to be one of the last twenty or so made?

Regards

Darren,
It came from Sunshine coast, but never got on the market. I had my name down with a broker and they phoned me once the guy contacted them to list it. I paid $49k for it. Not sure if this was good or bad price, as it is hard to find many for sale to compare it to. The broker did say that is was probably worth about $55k, but the guy was in financial trouble and wanted it gone asap.
It was made late 1999 and i believe it may have been one of the last couple made. It is a Black Marlin model ie has game poles, targa arch etc.

Regards,
Jody
