I have damaged my speed sensor on my Mariner 90hp 2 stroke outboard. It is a 2005 model.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Angus,
look on the front side of your gearbox for a small hole.. I bet its blocked with something.. get a small drill using your fingers drill out whatever is blocking up the hole ;)

I wasn't sure if they still used that hole.
I thought it would have been a bit higher tech by now.
My old Merc. had ants building a nest in it. Took a fair bit to clear it. #:)

Garry - you are a genius. There appeared to be the remnants of a small piece of drift wood in the hole. Picking at it with the drill cleared the problem I think. I will know for sure next time I am on the water.
Cheers, # #;D

I took the boat for a run today, and the speedo was again working a treat.
Thanks again Garry.
