1X 25 Tohatsu that goes like the clappers
1X15hp Honda. I love that little black button that makes it start. What more can I say :)

Bugger, I got confused ;D and voted for Merc, when mine is a Mariner. Add one to Mariner and remove one from Merc on final tally....All the bloody same anyway.

Yamaha was always going to win , they have a vast array of motors across all classes

Have a yammy and a johno.
Have had 6 different yamahas over the years and have never had one of them miss a beat.
Maybe Chrysler should be on the poll too. There must be one of them running somewhere although I'm sure none of the ones I;ve had anything to do with. They earn't the name white anchor rightfully!

I had 2 Mercs (both 60 2 strokers) and a 9 hp 2 stroke Tohatsu. A couple of years ago I went to Yammy and have never looked back. My last Merc was a 2000 model and my 93/94 Yammy is quiter and has never missed a beat. The 60 merc 2 stroke is one of their best motors, but it had several electrical problems iwth the main harness.

For me its Yammy.

Hi all
i have owned an Evinrude 85hp 1980 2s after rebuilt never missed a beat, a mercury 50hp 2s 1975 went like a bag of sh#t, 15hp johno 2s 1978 was a good motor for the estaury, and now i run around with a 115hp yamaha 1989 2s have had it for 5yrs and has never missed a beat on the Back of a 5.3m Fibreglass 1973 Stebercraft and there is some weigh to the old girl but will stick with the yamaha's from here on in

like any thing it is the individuals taste and what they have had the most success with and how you look after your motor

Cheers ;D ;D

My son said that Yamahas are much quieter than Mercury motors. Is that true?
He has suggested I get a new Yamaha to replace the Mercury.
