I'm hoping someone can help me find some aluminium tubing that I can use to make some custom height seat posts. The photo below shows the shape of the tubing. It's 60mm diameter, wall thickness is 3mm, and it has an 11mmx11mm keyway. The keyway is not essential, it only stops the seat from swivelling, and I leave mine in swivel mode anyway. It's for a "Springfield" base if that helps.

I've contacted a local aluminium supplier, but they either want $25 per metre for short lengths (I'm only after 2-3m), or will only sell it in 6m lengths. Does anyone have a source for this kind of tubing ?

Cheers,

Alan.

Take a look down one of the industrial recycling places, you might find something a lot cheaper you can polish up.
