I could use some help in finding a supplier of Gunwale rubber.
My plate boat has an aluminium strip along the gunwale which has a strip of rubber inserted into it.The aluminium strip provides the join in the sheets from the side of the boat to the gunwale,so it cant be replaced. Over the years the rubber has taken the brunt of line and rope cuts and requires replacement .I have tried all the obvious places like Clark Rubber and the chandlery shops but the rubber they have is so soft it wouldnt last a week.
Can anyone point me in the right direction. What are you guys building your own now use for this problem.

Thanks

Wally

Hi Blackened
Dave,No I havnt can you give me some more info

Thanks Roughas guts
The Bias is all rubber and unfortunately I have to stay with the aluminium primary strip. Graham rubber were helpful but another dead end.

The rubber I need is similiar to "h " section but is flat on the back were it slides into the aluminium.

Thanks

Another source would be a few of the plate manufacturers, try col @ fisher boats as he may be able to shed some light on where to go
