Just bought a Cruisecraft 685 Outsider :) with twin 115 Yamaha 4 strokes. Boat has 305 litre fuel capacity. I was just wondering the range I can expect to get from it. I thought it would use about 30 litres an hour at about 4000rpm, giving about 10 hours of running. But others have mentioned fuel consumption as low :-? as 15 litres/hour for both motors. Does anyone have any clues ?

Hi BlueH20

What size; diam and pitch are your props?

What material SS or Al?

How many blades?

Trim tabs fitted?

Any fins on the motors?

Cheers

Standard 3 blade Aluminium Props (19" pitch I think), with trim tabs, but no fins.

That would be 15 litres/hr per engine not combined (30 combined) ::)

Mate,

Look no further for your information. My uncle has exacly your boat and same engines, has done about 500 hours with them, so my guess is that he will give you pretty accurate stats.

PM me if Int and I will give you his phone number.. You might pick up a photo or two if you look up Frankoo on Ausfish, but he seldom posts these days.

I've got Frank's number, I'll give him a ring.

The boat is stored at Bribie. I was thinking of going up to the hards on an overnighter, but didn't want to run out of fuel. I imagine it'll be about a three hour run from Bribie.
