Guy's couple of questions for a prospective buyer.
Hoping you could help with your experiance on fuel milage.
Statute miles per litre of fuel used, for a 150 HP Merc 2 litre Pushing a 575 F signature off shore.
Or how much fuel would you use for a round trip roughly how many miles/litres would you use Etc.
And I know the boats pretty good but what about the motor, Merc 150 HP 2 litre 1995 era' are they sound, or should I not get to comfortable with one.
Cheers.

mate, i've got a 550br signature with 135 blackmax merc both '92 vintage. not exactly the same but pretty damn close. around 1.3k's to the litre for a burn over to moreton cruising with 4 people and beers at about 3800 to 4000 rpm on a nice day ie. slop less than a metre. pretty happy with motor, i thought mine was a 2.5 or so litre v6, the 150 was from the same family of block (going up to 200 i think). check the wiring loom on the motor, mercury tie all the connectors together in bundles and the insulation breaks down and eventually flashes through (fire=bad) and apparently the trim/tilt pumps were a bit dodgy. mine had a new pump fitted not long before we bought it, the wiring connectors were ready to catch fire though so we quickly fitted new ones and split them all apart. very simple agricultural motor, bit hard to start after a run sometimes (choke is a solenoid that drips fuel into the carby below and not a choke as such so it's easy to flood) but once i got the knack it's been all good. hope i've helped a little :)

Thank's paddles, some good stuff there to look out for.
I was a bit worried the 150Hp might be like the tower of terror.

nah, well mine hasn't been so far. i bought it off my mate and he had it for 4 years as his family boat before he upgraded. i've had it for a year now with no problems. it's only got 420 hours on it and when i got ken lewis to check it over for me he said the original hone marks were still inside the bores (hardly worn at all) and told me a few things to look out for in these motors. big thing i reckon is that at 135 it's the lowest power output in that v6 family of engines and will be very understressed.
