Hi Team!

I am f u c ked if I know how to fit my fuel float sensor flange back onto my fuel tank. :-/

From bottom up - I have :
bottom steel ring plate with five screws holes
rubber gasket with five screw holes
top fitting with five screw holes

I am sure the steel ring fits on inner face of fuel tank hole which then holds the gasket/top plate secure onto outer face of fuel tank hole.

All holes screw holes line up up ok with bottom steel ring plate/gasket and top fitting plate.

BUT, I am unable to hold the bottom steel ring plate in place to get the other two bits to screw in....

Reason - gauge stem is right in the middle so unable to hold the bottom plate in place for screwing down...

HELP??

G-day Mate

what ever you do make sure you seal it up properly with some gasket sealer but make sure it is the one intended for use with fuel. I learnt the hard way lost a fair amount of my floatation and it desolved and ran out my bungs all over the drive way.

get yourself a longer (75mm) bolt with the same thread.

put this one bolt through the sender unit, the gasket, and into the base plate.

This gives you room to wriggle the base plate back into the tank.

Once you have the other bolts in, replace the long bolt with the original.

Cheers

Use a couple of dobs of fuel resistant sealer on the inside plate. Line up holes with a couple of screws, or maybe hold in place with tape until it holds on it's own.
