Please help me locate where the pin should be located..
I pulled it out but dont know where/how it should go back.
110HP OMC 1989 motor.

Hi Smelly
is it the pin that holds the gearshift lingage at the power head end (think that was a bolt though)

Hi Smelly,
That R pin is off your shift shaft. The c-channel piece that the shift cable bolts into is connected to a rod that bends at right angles beneath the c-channel fitting. The end of that rod secures into the mechanism that retains the shift shaft (which has the 3/8 bolt in it). The end of that shaft is retained by the R-pin.

THanks BM - Fixed it and engine now running but revs way too high upon startup - See new thread...
