Mate i own a 1550 Haines Signature.
What do you want to know about the boat ?
I'm more than happy with my Haines but it depends on where you want to venture with this size boat.
Cheers Brent

Mate the hull is 4.7 metres and its a deep V
Cuts through chop no worries at all and reasonably stable at rest.
If your use to a flat bottomed boat you may get a surprise but you cant have speed without the stream linning.
Like all boats you can go almost anywhere on a GOOD DAY.
I venture out on the bay in 20 knots.

Hoodie,

Here's a write up on the F model. I'm gathering that the F stands for "Fishing Series" as per the 492 series. http://www.marinews.com/details.php?recordid=564&PHPSESSID=

I looked at the specs and price (a touch cheaper) but its similar to my 492F.

As Aquarius said the stability can be interesting if your use to a more flat bottom boat but the 492 roles to a point if you have 2 big blokes on one side but it stops at a certain point and won't role any more. If the V is similar to the 492 then chop is no issue.

Hoodie I'm sure 1 metre swell won't worry the 1550 but it will be a slow trip accross to Moreton.
Less than half a metre swell i would prefer for comfort but if you want to bash your way over go for it.
Ive been over to Moreton several times but usually pick the better days.
Its still good to know if your boat is capable of handling rough conditions just incase the weather turns nasty on the return trip.
I have 100 litres of fuel underfloor and the 90hp burns half of that on a good day to Tangas and back to Manly.
Cheers :)Brent

Great boats, my brother has one and we have come back through the bay in bad seas 1 - 1.5m, 20-30kt winds and it has handled very well.

You asked chop size, wave size, km out from shore, etc.

Chop would be about .5 to .75 of a metre and more and you will pound the boat appart. Wave size or swell you could go to 1 - 2.5m or more depending on the speration of the swell. Offshore would depend on the day, as with all boats, you can take a 8ft tinnie 20miles offshore if the weather is right. Speed wise with a 70hp, 17pitch prop these boats can reach 60km/hr GPS, but remember they can take larger motors.

Other than that they are great bay boats. Handling is also good when there is the Haines badge attached.
