Took my 2 sons for a session on Maroon, Sunday afternoon. Got on the water around 4.00pm, sun still high and hot. With the water so low the dam is quite hot with the coolist water at 29.7 and the majority of the lake at 30 deg's. Finished up with 8 small Bass for the session (all take cast and retrive). The average size 30 to 32cm. All fish take on Jackells. Finished at 7.00pm.

Is this off a boat?

Is shore fishing allowed and hows the shore fishing at Maroon?

Thanks.

Yes it was from a boat. I would say the shore fishing is near impossible because of the weed. The weed runs for about 10 meters from the bank out into the dam. It would be very frustrating working from the bank.

Bump this one up, keen to know if anyone's been down to Maroom recently and if ya can take a boat out.
I hear there are some big cod in there somewhere.
I might just take my canoe, but m8 and I are looking for somewhere to put his centre console in too, hehe, bit if overkill maybe but any info would be good, cheers.

Had a look at maroon this morning, not a very fishy looking place at the moment but seems fairly popular all the same judging by the number of boats out.

went out there yesterday afternoon as intended...fishing was a bit slow for most of the afternoon...that is until 6pm came around...

the fish went off like a firecracker on chinese new year!

We were getting them on everything we threw...jackalls...masks...spinnerbaits...surface lures of all types...beetle spins. Ended up with about 20 fish each. Got blasted in the weeds a few times as well...there a definately some bigger fish in there still.

was awesome fishing...we left them chewing too as we had to get home!
