I went fishing for bass the other day in the upper reaches of the Tweed river and had a Ball. I started off poorly, losing two lures and getting hang-ups every second cast. Upon calming down a bit I decided to use a cheaper alternative and switched to Sp's. After a few bumps and knocks a nice 37cm bass came on board. I then moved spots and tried my new rapala jerk bait. I threw it into an undercut bank, jeked it through the current, and got slammed. The bass streamed under the bank and gave some nice bursts before it was bankside.
I caught a few more but it started getting dark and I was in need of change. I tied on a popper and started walking into the gloomy riparian forest. I flicked a few casts into each hole and after a few boofs finally landed a nice bass. Another cast and another bass, however, he was a tiddler. I decided to leave after that mainly because I was 3km from the car, was thirsty as hell and had no water. All in all a nice arvo of bass fishing. :)

Nice to see the Tweed still producing some wild fish - how far up from the salt fresh interface were you? In my creek system the larger bass have all disappeared from the upper freshwater reaches for breeding.

First ones I caught in the inter tidal zone. The ones I got in pure fresh were up to 35cm.
