Gidday All

Fished Maroon on Saturday, water is very clear. Started fishing around 2pm, took the tin lids and some shrimps.

Fished the edges initially but water was too clear, headed to middle of the dam into 40 ft of water and fish were schooled up about 2-3 feet off bottom in small schools.

Picked up some on ice jigs but lots around 30 cm, and were coming up bloated from such depth.

Boys kept scoring fish on shrimps all round dam throughout afternoon.

Good news is that on dusk got a couple of good smashes on the popper. Had a great afternoon

Cheers

Sound like a good arvo on the water

Little fish regular is all good

Gives you something the think about as they get bigger in the years to come

Maroon is about 23 % - water level has been fairly consistent for awhile, some big weed beds up towards the creek which indicates the water level has been constant for awhile

not a lot of weed towards the front of the dam

big weeds beds in front of Pointros camp at the back

Water is very clear, watched a big eel about 5ft long in about 15 ft of water just waiting for a feed in the rocks near the wall for about 5 minutes

cheers

Can 2wd launch from the ramp ATM ?

I was at Maroon a few weeks ago and the concrete extends into the water only a couple of feet so my car was on the ramp but the trailer wheels were off the back but it was all fine. Once it gets down below 20% you`ll be launching off the dirt below or beside the ramp. that`s still ok for a 2wd unless it`s raining.
