Fishing 1770

Hi All,
Has any one fished 1770 from either the MV Coral Sea or the MV James Cook. ???
Have booked a charter in July 03 and was wondering if anyone has fished the area at that time of year. ???

If so what was the catch (size & numbers) we fished there in Sep 2000 and it was poor to say the least.

I have fished the Bunker Group in my own boat as well as the Coral Sea.

I did post a report on the Coral Sea adventure. I forget, but someone from here went on it recently and scored good fish. Average boat, average crew.

July should be good weather. Make sure ALL members of your gang take heavy gear ( 30lb plus ) as the skip won't go deep unless you all got that sort of gear.

By deep, I mean on the outside of Fitzroy and Bolt in 40 meters plus. But good fishing to be had in the shallows, in particular Sweeties. Save some action for the night fish. Coral Sea sholud set anchor inside or beside Fitzroy reef. Float down your pillie and get ready to strike hard and bugger all drag.

Travel up via Bundaberg as the road is all sealed now.
