All,
there has been lots on chat on radio about big and lots of yellowtail getting caught, are these getting caught on livies on the bottom? can anyone help me out here?

A livie close to the bottom is probably the best way to target Kingies,Just need to find them ;)

Hi Mate,
Livies on the bottom will score you a king.
If you can get them PIKE are a top king bait. :)

we've picked them up trolling skirts also in rocky areas

Down in Sydney we found that trolling lures around rocky headlands for tailor also gets a few kingies. Should be the same up here, but haven't tried it. Other than that, livies are your best bet.

Here in SA a live squid would have to be my number 1 bait to use.... we suspend them about a metre or 2 below a balloon...

Try live yellowtail or live squid at sunrise and if you can't get them use a metal spinner or soft plastic or even frozen pillies around deep water were their is alot of rocky stucture and available food.
