Fish finders

After many months of blood sweat and tears restoring my olf fishing boat its time to put th finishing touches on for the warmer months ahead, there are way to many types of fish finders out there on the market, can anyone give me some reliable tips on what to look for in one and or products that have proven there worth by site users,please spare the fine details, I just wont understand, so some practical basic info please.

User friendly is a good start,most good sounders are menu driven these days and therefore fairly user friendly.
Humminbird,Lowrance.Navman,Garmin to name a few.Buy the most pixels you can afford&buy from somebody who is prepared to take the time to show you how to use it,look towards a good warranty too!
