27mHz / VHF

Is there any way to communicate between 27meg & VHF marine radios?? I've got a 27 in my boat and my mate has a VHF - looks like I might have to upgrade!?!

the only way is to get within shoutin distance, shout into the mike and that will work until your voice goes hoarse LOL
like said before, run 2 radios and 2 arials as they are also different
