Garmin, in my opinion are the number one in GPS.

Further, I am now running 3 Garmins on 2 boats.

The original 120 on the little Skanky Hoe, and the 126 and 172C on ReBait.

I believe the 172C to be the best value for money Chartplotter. GPS unit around. Can't confirm the 152, but worth a look at the 172C, if the budget allows.

the 172C will allow you to use the BLUE CHART cartography, which is deadly accurate, and also, the unit ( woith internal anteanna, can be placed in you r car, with City Navigator ( software ) to traverse this great country of ours by road.

Further the Garmin chart areas, are mush larger than Lowrance, and therefore more cost effective.

But, back to budget.

172C is around the $1,200 plus 250 for Data Card Map.

Although we landed our 172C from the States to our door for $760 inc ins and frieght. ( Via Ebay ).

any more info, pm me etc. James,

Cheers Phill
