Sorry, for some reason the first message seems corrupt - Hi, I have a VHF GME ELECTROPHONE GX548 VHF MARINE RADIO. Does anyone know how to programme an extra channel into it? I have heard that it is by key strokes?

What "extra channel" ? Being a Marine VHF it has all the Australian recognised VHF frequencies as standard.

I have a GX294 it come's with 12 channels 10 preset and two spare I emailed GME and they said the 2 spare are for emergency services only and proof is required for an authorised service centre to program them in

Thanks to all for the messages. I have a licence to use 154.425. I know a dealer who will do it, but i am trying to save myself $40.
