Yes people
am off on a 12 hour drive tomorrow to NSW to visit family. The family have a house and at the bottom of the garden they have a private pontoon on a river which is in their property. Just curious the river is called the karuah river (I think) what can I hope to catch there? Will probaly be using earthworms and maybe a wobbler and some softies. Will definetely be taking the crab pot and bait trap for some prawns. Does anyone know the size limits and bag limits for the fish I hope to catch?
I have just looked on a map and it is north-east of Newcastle.
anyways thanks guys I hope to catch some river fish.
cheers jack

Jack,

Hope you get this before you leave.

Depending on how far up the river they live, as in the salt and brackish sections your main target would be bream and the other saltwater species plus a school jew maybe ::)

If they are further upstream then the Karuah River holds a pretty good stock of wild Bass so there a few options open to you. The river actually runs into Port Stephens.

Have a great time, but check to see if you require a licence to fish in any NSW waterway both salt and fresh.
