Well, I'm off again. Couldn't organise a decent camping trip so I'm taking my girlfriend up the Daintree for a week next Monday [smiley=2thumbsup.gif].
Don't expect to try real hard fishing wise, we've been catching enough Grunter etc on the sandbar areas to not bother too much with luring. Probably get bored midweek and have a go anyway though.
Anyone out on the water up this way at that time? Hope to see you out there.
Tight lines, Mark

Mate, it's only been a short time since I was there last. mmmm let see, 1981. The place has probably changed a tad since then ?

I was only 7 then so the memory is a bit faded. Fishing wise it's pretty much gone the way of all other places but there is still enough for a good day out.
Mud Island at the mouth of the South Arm has really grown over. Back then you could take a small tinnie through it on a high tide, no chance now.
Overall it is still a lovely river, in my opinion by far the best in the area.
I just hope GBRMPA don't shut off Snapper Island outside the mouth, I'll agree with Yellow but green is stupid.
Cheers, Mark.
