hey guys,
am heading down to the goldie with my fiacne and uni friends. i was looking at getting at least one session in with the plastics at some location. was wondering if anyone could chuck any tips/locations my way. im staying at burliegh heads. is the seaway an option?? what sort of gear should i take?? already have my 2-4 kg outfit in the car, but am wondering if i should take a heavier outfit for targetting some kingies or jew off the wall?? any info will be much appreciated.
cheers

BTW, im not after ur secret spot, just some general ideas on areas that i should start. i can probably work out fishy looking water for myself from there.

mate you don;t need the seaway, too many snags landbased :P try tallebudgera creek, the bridge has been full of bait the last few nights, had some nice bustoffs and some large flatty's on the sp's or try up the creek, down tallebudgera drive if you have a ubd try p60 e14, or try the platform off pizzey park p49 k 13 it's just off oceanic, if you want some of the bigger species, try the rocks at the entrance of currumbin creek, and there has been some nice hauls off the beach at plamy, or if you have a n.s.w fishing permit go hit the tweed, for the some jacks down near chinderah i'll be out at night on the weekends if you wanted a guide, or at least find out where they are biting, give me a call on 0403891491

the tld would be a bit hard to use unless you're in a shark chasing mood, as for your 25lb or 12lb reel depends on what your after, but your flick stick could handle the bream and flattys and cover anything you would fish for with the 12 pounder whereas you'd need at least 25lb to handle some of the jacks/tailor and trevers that are around the structure, like the bridge etc not to mention if you score a jewie, like you could get away with just the two rods, or your two lighter ones and the 15lb i generally use my 8lb braid set up on my 7ft sp rod and a 10kg mono overhead on either my 5'6 uglystick or 8 ft gp rod depending on where i'm situated and that handles most things, but i have a 10ft spin rod and a 13 ft alvey set up for off the rocks but i've seen guys down there with 7ft set ups floating their baits out or spinning and they have some luck.
