Today tonight are running a piece on turtle mortality in moreton bay tomorrow night 12/10 6.30 pm Have seen the same pictures on the net somewhere be interesting to see who gets the blame and who is doing the talking?

Yeah, it's quite a dramatic advert 7 is running for the show.

No doubt it'll be 'plastic bags are the enemy' along with the people that use them, us.

Really though, how people would there be left in the community that aren't aware of the dangers plastic bags pose to marine life.
Channel 7 must need a ratings boost.

The root cause of most of the Moreton Bay pollution would most likely be stormwater run-off.
Why not a campaign to keep the bay clean for humans to use, it would be a change for humans to be elevated to the venerated heights of the turtle and dugong.

Hey Steve, agree 100%. Was out on the bay today and saw three turtles at close quarters at different spots miles apart, one dugong and maybe two dolphins - say maybe as it may have been the same one twice. The bay was looking pretty good today, if not a little bumpy.

Just watched seven news and they had the story on it, didn't give us fishermen a bad rap, I thought, more about dead heads dropping their rubbish down the sewers and storm water drains. Anyway, interested to hear others views who saw it.

the car industry came under fire a while back due to the """"pollution""" of letting balloons go after sale days and so forth,,,

you know,,, when you drive by a car yard,,, see all the pretty balloons tied to the cars,,,,then when its time to go home they """let them free""

the amount of these that find there way into the ocean must be fairly high,,,, but i've always wondered how they can prove (other than first hand watching you do it)which yard is responsible????????
