30metres of 5mm rope capacity is pretty small, no room for chain, I'd say you'd get 4 or 5 metres 6mm shortink chain (although rhe diam if the spool may even restrict that)and no room for rope.

You would need to be restricting yourself to very shallow enclosed waters for this to be of any use, all other considerations of strength/build quality aside.

Yeah, probably a solution to a non-existent problem.

Probably intended for US Canda lakes and would suit a tritoon or pontoon in tree enclosed non tidal mud bottom waters.
Pike etc are all found within the tree fall zone 20 to 30 meters from the edge before the water gets too deep and the bottom is too barren.

Good fun tho.

yep agree, these are designed for party barges pontoons etc in enclosed fresh water lakes in North America.
not an alternative for decent anchor winches.

I often thought about getting one specifically for Botany Bay as the average depth is only about 20 Feet.
Powerwinch have a couple of models, they tend to use heavier mushroom type anchors with them in the US relying on weight as much as hooking the bottom.
