Has anyone had their platey repainted? What size/ cost etc. Which paint. Can you just fair and bog over old stuff (after sanding flakes). Etc

I repainted mine.
Removed defective bog with grinder and wire brush and primed with Nyalic then replaced with Norfil marine filler
Painted with water based paint from Airbrush Mega Store
Painted Nyalic over the top
Spray gun $100 from Airbrush Mega-Store and compressor $100 from Sydney Tools (delivered)
Paint cost about $500 as I used many different colours - if one colour I would say $250 and Nyalic $260
I haven't done inside the boat or the cabin.
The rail I buffed back to aluminium and just Nyalic - paint here gets damaged
First time I have tried something like this but happy with result

It's all in the preparation u would need to go right back to bare aluminium bog sand than paint, if your doing it your self remember 2k or 2 pack paints are a carcinogen when atomized with a spray gun but 2k paints are ok to roll or brush on, something to think about

a lot of guys still use 2k in there back yards its not illegal and u dont need a license to purchase but OHS has strict rules on using it the guys who professionally spray it use full body suits with full face mask and those special respirators

Have you thought about vinyl wraps?

They seem to be a fairlycost effective way to give a boat a face lift.
