Having just done about 1000k of corrugated roads towing the quinny, I can offer the following advice. 1. Don't do it. 2. Rewire the auto bilge pump to the switched side of the isolation switch or risk a flat battery. 3. Add bump stops to the axle or risk popping your guards off. 4. Lengthen the wiring to the led lights on the guards or they will be ripped out. 5. Don't do it.

Haha. Nice. Where was that. Far North?

So I assume you have the old style auto bilge pump that uses a ball bearing and tilt? Newer style activates with water being sensed.

Why lengthen wire to lights? Too much suspension travel on corrugated roads?

Cheers

From Karumba to Roper bar. If you add bump stops then the wires might be long enough to avoid being ripped out by the travel when hitting washouts and dust holes. I will be adding bump stops.
I guessed the bilge pump has a float valve as this is the only way the battery could have been flattened. Slid the boat into the Towns river only to have to get the aux battery out of the cruiser. More crocks than fish there.
