1770 Deep dropping?????

Gday guys, just interested to hear whether deep dropping off 1770 is a viable option? I am heading up there early August and have recently been giving this deep dropping a go off Caloundra and wondered if it is similar further north? I have fished up to 140m up there for pearlies but haven’t gone deeper. Probably really only interested in going to 300m as I only have deck winches. Should I be concentrating on 100m and less or venture wider?
