mud crabs brisbane river new farm area

I have notices for six months all mud crabs are gone and replaced with a huge number of small black hairy crabs , anyone know why, are pros working the area? I have been told there have been pro pots in this reach of the river

Don't know the area, but I doubt pros would catch every crab, they leave when the catch drops to an uneconomic level.
