So, slowly amassing all the stuff and ideas to go on the new rig when we get there (don't have a boat to go fishing so may as well buy crap for the next one). Being doing some thinking on how I will do the livie pump. I've always had internal setups where the pump is inside the hull and sucks in through a skin fit, never had a real problem pumps last forever given their out of uv and not underwater. Anyway, thinking of going old school in the new rig and going back to bilge external to hull. Easier to change pumps out, one less skin fitting to leak. For those of you that have this setup do you find you are changing pumps out more often given the pump is always submerged and maybe subject to water ingress. Just wondering if I am solving one problem but giving myself another?

1st world problems I know, but bloody important stuff to get right!!

I had a rule 360 on my last rig with a scoop that used to jet water into it for use at speed. Never changed it in 15 years or so. The boat was stored indoors.
