2.4m Wide Marine Carpet

G'day,

There was a place down near Yatala that sold 2.4m wide marine carpet.
I am after the standard poly carpet, no the rubber backed stuff.
Does anyone remember who this is?

Problem is it's only 2m wide, which is pretty much standard to all suppliers.

I think the 2.4 stuff has vanished, I searched high and low about a year ago and came up blank, pretty dumb to only have 2m wide when almost all trailer boats are 2.4 beam, I found some of that dark grey ribbed stuff in 2.5 wide when I did the old Rebel Cat.

Yes, I find it strange that they haven't realised this!
I have asked my suppliers several times if they could make, or source the wider carpet, but it isn't an option apparently.

What's even stranger is the fact that they cut the carpet into 2m wide strips, it's made much wider at the factory, I think 4m or more, just like house carpet.

They could cut it at 2.5m but then they’d need a market for 1.5m rolls or they’d have to charge you double.

Why not supply some limited full width? Some boats could even put it across the boat because there is less length to the transom than the width of the full size roll.
