My trailer has alloy rims and the wheels that have the disc brakes on the inside of the rims are black. I've tried degreaser, this does absolutely nothing, some aluminium polish which will get through if I'm aggressive with a scourer, it's almost as if the brake dust has reacted with the rims.

How do you clean this stuff off.

Started with that but it didn't even look at it. The brake dust is well and truly ingrained into the alloy. I used to wash the outside after every trip and hose the inside. I was supposed to have painted rims but these were originally supplied and was unaware of the pitfalls of alloy rims and brake dust otherwise I would have insisted on my original request.
