Saw this Fiber glass boat. It's a 2009/2010. The transom looks like this. See pictures. I don't see anti foul and the rest of hull seems ok. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20171129/9797e4c39c26ee2e20b2e15988a9c73b.jpg

by the colour of the trailer, rollers and the nylon board between the motor and transom, looks like there was a fire close by!

Certainly looks like fire damage from the pic.

Do you think its fire from the motor is most likely?

is there a better pic of the motor?

Looks more like something behind it on the ground may have caught fire , if there is no hull damge anywhere else? Outboards don't ted to catch fire as a rule. More likely a grass fire, someone got careless using an angle grinder around dry grass, or something along those lines?

Not osmosis. You can see burning and blackening on wobble rollers, trailer frame, and ali transom plate , not to mention bottom of motor. I don't know why people even mention osmosis with regards to trailer boats--it only ever affected badly laid up glass hulls that were left permanently in the water---the process couldn't happen with something that spent 90% of its life on a trailer.

Sorry Ranmar. I didnt see where it said it spent 90% of its life on a trailer.
It doesnt have to be poorly layed up laminate to get osmosis. Cheap GP resin can have the same effect. Have seen it with Chinese resin.

Most trailer boats spend more than 90% of their lives on a trailer. And have your ever actually seen a trailer boat with osmosis? I've seen a few early large hulls with it ( talking 35-40 ft ), but not for a very long time. Think early eighties.
So osmosis is making a comeback? With poor materials? I'd hate to see that. I think the gelcoat on this one started to bubble with heat before it really caught fire, personally.

The lower unit was taken off. Could that have started the fire or maybe it was damaged by the fire?

wouldn't be anything on the leg that would catch fire, so probably damaged from the fire below!

Definitely an engine fire, look at the well it's all splattered too!

engine cowling and wiring harness looks intact for it to be an engine fire!

look below the cowling, rest of the engine is black from fire/smoke, and as stated, the leg's been removed!

Fire has touch that hull , dead give away is the transom polyboard backing is distorted, melted and discolored, as previously stated id agree on a grass fire

Fuel spilled all over motor and on ground, then ignited? *The dog barked* ( see refuelling post ;))
