A quick question for V-Sea owners.

I have a 2000 model with a 115hp (2 stroke - Johnson Oceanpro) and looking to increase the fuel capacity.

Has anyone done this. If so what was your new capacity size and did you have and problems with the boat after increasing capacity.

Shout yourself a four-stroke. Same effect, other benefits. Bit left-field but if I were spending money I'd go that way.

may still need a bigger tank
highly unlikely a 4 stroke will double his mileage

Quite likely a four stroke, properly selected will go close to doubling his mileage, from personal experience. Depending on useage, for example a lot of trolling, he may only use 25% of what he previously was.

Agreed. Very likely a new 4 stroke will use half the fuel.

Those 115 Oceanpros were fuel hungry, even the Yamaha 115 2 strokes available at the time used 30% less fuel.

Great motors with the right props tho.

The suggestion of four stroke is good, but this motor is like brand new and only clocked 285 hours.

Have a look at the tanks that this seller has. Many options, you could quite easily add a second tank, perhaps sit it up between the bunks and plumb it into a 3way switch.

I have been comtemplating doing something similar to extend my range for trips out to the reef at1770.

I Had a 45 odd litre water tank forward of my fuel tank which i converted to an aux fuel tank.
its a second inlet to the water filter and 2 on/ off taps.
seemed safer than a cut and shut job
cheers
