Of course they will work, almost anything works at some time, as long as you don't expect the TV add to be gospel truth, and accept the quality might be "low" then try it and see.

He he he, only seen the ad again last night and thought, gee, I hope someone buys one to test them out. I know it wasn't going to be me, just more 'Demtel' hype.
Interested to hear a report on how they go.
