A mate of mine has a 2003 75hp Etec which as far as he knows has always run on XD50. He has been told by an Etec dealer that it should be run on XD100. Dealer has said the XD50 is for the smaller engines and cold climates. The engine is in good condition and has never had any issues, so he wants to ensure that changing is the right thing to do. The dealer has offered to drain the old oil and re-tune for XD100 at a cost of $100. This cost isn't an issue, he just wants to ensure his engine continues to give him good, reliable service.

Can any of you advise on the XD50 v XD100 question please?

Thanks,
Dave.

All sorted. His engine is the FICHT series and therefore the XD50 is the oil to go for according to Evinrude.
