HI all,

I have recently taken interest is the Bonito 560 and the Haines Signature 543SF both in centre console configuration

I'm not really looking to start the usual which is better etc but rather are these pretty similar or is there miles between them.

Maybe Signature will bring out a 550SF since they have the new 550RF and 550F. Bit longer and wider than the 543 hull.

Haven't been in a bonito but I had the 542cc for a fair few years and hours. You won't go wrong in one, the hull shape is the business.

Bonito hands down. I've been in both and own a Bonito 560. Quality custom build. Don't get me started.
Best boat I've had. Great in the crap off shore. Lots of blokes in the know are buying them.. FF..

A mate asked me to help him figure out the exact question you're asking. From the research I did, you get a lot more for your money with the Bonito. He bought one, waited 6 months for it, and is very happy. The only issue he's encountered is with the self draining deck. The boat has and inch or so of water on the deck constantly when loaded up for an overnight trip. He's since installed bungs for the drains to be able to seal the deck.

Sorry guys but I'm not after which one is better or which one is better value etc.
I'm asking more along the lines of what are the differences. Are they very similar boats.
I notice the signature has extremely deep vee where as the bonito seems a lot less vee.
And what about layout and how much room is behind the rear seat or which provides the best layout for snapper outside or bass up the rivers

I think you'll have to go and look at them yourself to find out for sure.

What about the Hooker 5.5 Pro Fisherman? The Bonito finish looks agricultural. The Signature looks a bit fancy. The Hooker looks in between. The Bonito will be far cheaper because its factory direct. They seem to all sit on garbage trailers though.

Sam,
You are close enough to go to the bonnie shed.
There you can see for yourself. No wood but agricultural(?) damm I thought it was practical and easy to clean.
No worries ,just checkout the layup and maybe a test ride.::)

Sam, I have fitted out 2 x 560 Bonito's this year and I like there build. They have put some thought into the layout. I can put you in contact with one of my customers for a test run if needed :)

Did you fit the one with the 150 Honda and all the Garmin gear Gary? How did it handle he 150?

Thanks guys but I'm not up to the stage of test rides yet, would have to sell my current boat before I was ready to make a move and I'm still trying to work out if I want to sell mine and move into something like these.

I can see that the bonitos are well made boats but I struggle to find details about the hull, like dead rise etc. are the walls double lines because in the photos it doesn't seem like it.

Yeh Greg

Both customers went the 150 Honda with 7412 displays
The 150 went really well , both customers are extremely happy with the setup
they both went thru hull transducers a 600w and a 1kw which needs to be done at time of manufacture which makes it a lot easier. The floor needs to be cut out to replace tho

it seems that there is a nice little following for the Bonito boats, did those that have brought one also consider the Haines Signature and have a good look over them?

Does anyone on here own a signature or know anyone who does?

Cheers

Sam687,

I just sold a 543SF, I can answer any Q's you have about it. I didn't look at the Bonito in the flesh but did consider both it and the Hooker before I bought the 543.
