Hi all looking at redoing my start leads, I have a 70 hp 4 stroke 1999 model evinrude and have found some tinned wire that is rated at 188 amps 32ml squared is it enough for my motor? Can anyone tell me what I need as a minimum? The distance from battery is about 1.2 meters.

32 square mm is fine, I think 20 would also be OK & probably 16 as well.

32mm squared is 2B&S cable - definitely heavy enough and as Fed has added, probably a bit more than you need given everything being in good nick. Provided it fits everywhere you need it to and isn't cost prohibitive, I wouldn't downsize though. The bigger cable will give you just that little bit extra of a safety net against not starting with a battery that isn't 100%
