Hi Ausfishers

I have a chance at a pretty good deal on a 2013 DF140 with 5 hours on it, so I'm wondering what would my Merc be worth? Its a 2005 Optimax 135 saltwater with just over 400 hours on it. Cant find many second hand ones for sale to gauge the price off.

Cheers, Corey

Probably around the 5K mark would be my guess. Tough market to get a gauge on. Hours are low but it is still a 11 year old donk.

Generally once they go over the 10 year mark they drop alot more and a harder to sell.

20 or 25in leg? If its 20in i might be interested..... old suzuki just died, now my work contract finished and im out of work for a bit so the planned 4 stroke upgrade is on hold. Another 2 stroke for the time being might have to do if i can get the mrs to ok it.......

Unsure mate , I'll have a look, it has mercury smart craft gauges aswell, its been a great motor and I disn't really have any plans to upgrade but with the suzuki dangling in front of my nose its very tempting

Sweet, let me know. Cant guarantee anything, at least i can give the mrs an option. She said flat out no to the $18k+ 4-stroke upgrade, a cheaper option might change her mind.
Kind of sucks, plenty of time on my hands, no boat to enjoy it. At least th the weather is shit.

Curious as to why you want to change the opti for the suzi ?

The opti will use only slightly more fuel ( possibly less if the boat is heavy) but is a much torquier motor, that punches above its weight where as the 140 suzi is the opposite.

What sort of boat is it going on ? and has the opti given you trouble ?

Opti has been an awesome motor, but with a really good price for a basically brand new 4 stroke and while I'll still get half decent money for the motor I have then it seems like a good idea to upgrade, will add value to the boat with an outboard thats 8 years newer

Oh and its a quintrex 570, also a bit of convenience with not having to worry about oil anymore

Thats true. The 140 suzi should push the quintrex ok imo.

Sorry for the late reply, its a 25" leg, unfortunately for me the suzi is a 20" leg, anyone know what the cost of a new leg would be??

Probably enough to not bother unless you can find one that has been wrecked with the leg in good nick.
