Must have been moored or something, or he had no idea? Even the biggest bung left out still gives you plenty of warning and time to do "something"

Dual one inch bungs fills a 4.5 metre tinnie to the floor in less than a minute (admit it - we have all done it). If you didn't notice and then moved to one side, free surface effect would probably finish the job off quite nicely.

Find me a bloke that has never left the bungs out and Ill ask if he ever owned a boat with bungs lol.

We've all managed it, although not to those extremes. Who ever thought optional holes in the boat were a good idea huh?

Did it once. 25 years ago when I went for my licence. Fortunately launching into shallow water next to a sand bank. By the time I noticed I was still able to haul the little tinny on to the sand. That lesson now comes to mind every time I launch. Never done it since.

I forgot the bung in the new Bonito a couple of years ago. Just out on the Broadwater for a couple of hours.
Didn't find out till I put it back on the trailer ! Fully sealed under floor except for the tank space.
Only took on about 50 litres. Air couldn't come out so water couldn't get in... Love it...FF

Did it once with a UB 19 Yamaha with a 32 mm bung. Must have been quick off the mark off the trailer, didn't notice until I was about to anchor 2 or 3 miles away :-[ A very quick anchor- drop- the- lot -with- a- float -on- it and plane it out while I still could. Now I put both in before I leave home, and run around the back for a second check before I back down the ramp.

I backed halfway down the ramp once before I remembered, jumped out and found that the old man had screwed them in at home anyway, now I have a bung on the boat keys, that way I always have a spare and its a quick reminder when jumping in the boat at the ramp, havent forgotten since though
