Looking for a boat to do mainly estuary but also some inner offshore and headland work.
Problem is I'm restricted to 4 metres due to parking and I have to manoeuvre easily by myself
So I was considering a inflatable with a aluminium floor and decked out for fishing including bow mount electric.
Would appreciate any advice and problems with hooks etc,
Will be keeping undercover so should last well as I know they can be a problem left in the sun
There a few different materials they are made of but not sure if there is a better one suited for fishing
Cheers

Pm Floating Rib mate, he's a top bloke and will give you the rundown. He's got a bigger rib that he fishes from.

We have all seen the misadventures of the gaff man while fishing from a RIB. For my money you would be better served looking at something like these

or any one of the myriad of heavy duty 4 metre tinnies that are available. A bow mount on an inflatable is going to be a fairly intricate project by comparison to other boats as well I would have thought.

Hello Craigo,

I had a small RIB and fishing is do-able, but do you really want to?
RIBs are very expensive, have very little room and are wet and difficult to rig a sun-shade on.
On the other hand, drive like magic and are super safe and stable.
The 4 meters is interesting.
Does that include outboard tilted down and the trailer drawbar?
If so, we are into a very short boat.
Could you poke the drawbar out through a hole in the wall of the shed?
What sort of $$$$ is the budget?
This is a very interesting question.

Hey mate.
A friend of mine has a thunder cat that he fishes from at times.
It has a good floor, fibreglass bow that would give you something mount a lecky too, and will certainly Handle some offshore work.
And if the fish aren't biting, you will sure be able to get home fast.

Thanks

Thanks guys
Crocodile, 4 metres or so is the boat length, cant go over around 5 metres for total length mainly because of garage and I have to drive up a steep driveway and disconnect and turn the boat around by hand myself in a small area.
$ wise are around the same as 4 metre V-nose, but you do loose some room, not overly concerned about the shade, I have a 4.4 plate centre console so im used to a hat and sunscreen, but it is just too hard to manhandle by myself and goes close to 6 metres all up Only will be fishing 2 at most with a lot of the time just me

Get a folding draw bar fabricated for the trailer and a towball on the front of your car. Might mean you can keep what you have already got

Hello Craigo,

Folding drawbar is a great suggestion.
I use a Powerwheel (lever and ratchet) jockey wheel for the trailer, it will push a 4.3m tinny up a steepish concrete driveway and then offer zero turning circle movements.

Unfortunately the console is too high for the garage as well and its time for that boat to go
