Centre Console to Tiller Conversion

Hi Guys

Has anyone made the conversion from centre console to tiller steer?
I was thinking about doing to my 4.6 c/c
After crabbing and cast netting over the summer have found the console getting in the way
I know i'll miss the bit of protection the console offers in the open bay when it blows up
Any info would be great

Are you thinking of converting your CC to tiller, or buying another boat? Converting is a lot of work.

Just re-read your post, seems like converting the CC, there is a couple of things to look at, first there is the motor, is a conversion kit available? Next the transom, some are not suitable for a tiller, especially the full flat transom models, you just can't use the tiller, then there is seating, most CC's don't have a bench or pedestal seat right at the back, then there is filling the area where the console is now, might take some messing about!

Definitely sell the current boat and buy a tiller steer. By far the cheapest option.
